Discover Roxbury is always looking for volunteers to help make community events successful. From food and history to arts and culture, get involved with Discover Roxbury’s dynamic programming. Volunteers usually work in shifts ranging from 1-6 hours depending on the event.

Please note that Discover Roxbury is not involved in historic restoration of buildings or other infrastructure or building projects.

"Street" team:
Discover Roxbury produces thousands of pieces of informational materials each year. Of course, they are of no use if no one gets to see them. The "street team" doesn't have to be on the street literally. Generally, we need additional sets of hands to help us spread the word by distributing our materials at bookstores, cafes, libraries, senior centers, schools, and other high traffic areas around Metro Boston.

Bike barons:
During the summer months, Discover Roxbury and the Franklin Park Coalition co-present bike tours around Roxbury. Confident riders who can fix flat tires and keep chains in proper working order are always welcome.

Critical eye:
Given that our small staff can't see everything, we need volunteers who can photograph and/or shoot video during our tours and events. We attract a fun crowd, visit interesting locales, and will include your work in our Flickr library and on our YouTube channel.

Arts, culture, and recreation ambassadors:
Every year Discover Roxbury organizes large interactive events as part of the ArtROX! series. Friendly and outgoing volunteers are needed to greet attendees, sell tickets and other merchandise, explain the program for the event, and provide information about the venue. Specific events include the Black & White Party, Egleston Square Parade, Franklin Park Kite Festival, and Heart of the Hub.
